Recognizing this need, the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Gujarat, has developed a mobile application called “KrushiPragati” to facilitate timely access to comprehensive agricultural information. This application consolidates a wide array of data relevant to farmers, enabling them to make informed decisions.

Through KrushiPragati, farmers can geo-tag their farms and receive tailored updates, including pest and disease infestation forecasts, weather predictions, crop health assessments, growth stages, crop calendars, stress identification, soil condition analyses, contingency planning advisories, crop suitability recommendations, and periodical agronomic guidance. These features collectively serve as a vital support system aimed at enhancing productivity and promoting sustainable agriculture.

Furthermore, KrushiPragati provides farmers with essential knowledge on crop varieties and regional characteristics, optimal sowing and planting times, irrigation schedules, crop spacing, fertilizer requirements and application methods, inter-cultivation practices, weed management, pest and disease control strategies, and harvesting techniques. The platform also offers information regarding agricultural inputs and locates nearby suppliers to facilitate procurement.

An additional feature of KrushiPragati is the chat option with agricultural experts. This functionality allows farmers to communicate directly with specialists, share images of their farms, and receive immediate advice on their concerns. It effectively brings expert support within the reach of every farmer with just one click.

Beyond agronomic assistance, KrushiPragati serves as a resource for post-harvest activities by providing market prices from APMC markets, details about government schemes at both state and central levels, and information on region-specific input suppliers along with their contact details.
